To the east

Kilimanjaro

Africa’s highest mountain, 5,895 m. On clear mornings Kibo’s snow shows above the trees — and you can walk its rainforest in a day.

Mount Meru seen from Ngaramtoni near Arusha

To the west

Mount Meru

Tanzania’s second peak, 4,566 m, rising out of Arusha National Park — where giraffes and buffalo walk below the crater.
