Booking terms
These terms apply to every booking made with Katiti Lodge, Kikatiti, Arusha, Tanzania — on this website, by email, by WhatsApp or by phone. Please read them before you book; making a booking means you accept them.
Rates
Rates are per room per night in US dollars and include breakfast, Wi-Fi, daily housekeeping, taxes and a pick-up from or drop-off to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Seasonal rates and long-stay discounts are shown in the booking summary before you confirm. Meal plans, extras and experiences are priced as shown when you add them.
Reserving and paying
When you book on this website your room is held for 48 hours. A deposit of 30% of the total confirms the booking. We accept bank transfer in USD and mobile money in Tanzanian shillings at the day’s rate; we send the payment details by email and WhatsApp. The balance is paid on arrival in cash, by card or by mobile money. If no deposit is received within 48 hours, the hold ends and the room becomes available to other guests — we will always contact you first.
Cancellations and changes
- Up to 14 days before arrival: your deposit is refunded in full.
- From 13 to 3 days before arrival: half of the deposit is refunded.
- Within 48 hours of arrival, or if you do not arrive: the deposit is not refunded.
- Moving your dates is free when the room is available; please ask as early as you can.
- Experiences can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the day.
Check-in and check-out
Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 10:00. Late arrivals are welcome at any time; please tell us your flight details. Early check-in and late check-out depend on availability.
Children
Children under 3 stay free and cots are available. Children aged 3 to 11 pay half price for meal plans. Each room has a maximum number of guests, shown on its page.
Experiences
Experiences are run by the lodge with our own drivers and licensed local guides. Prices are per person and include what is listed on each experience page. Weather or park rules may occasionally change a plan; if we have to cancel, we offer another date, another experience or a full refund.
The house
Katiti is a quiet lodge. Smoking is allowed only in the garden areas set aside for it. Pets cannot be accommodated. We are not responsible for valuables left unattended outside your room. Please treat our staff, other guests and the house with respect — we reserve the right to end a stay that puts either at risk.
