Tarangire River Camp sits on a low ridge inside the park, so game drives start the moment you leave your tent. In the dry season, from June to October, hundreds of elephants gather along the river below the camp — you can often watch them from the pool.

Tents are simple and comfortable: proper beds, en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, and a shaded veranda. Dinner is cooked over the fire and served under the stars.
